- St Cyril of Alexandria took part in the Council of Ephesus, which proclaimed Mary as “theotokos” (God-bearer).

Thursday 28
- St Irenaeus, bishop and martyr. He lived soon after the time of the apostles and knew those who had seen and talked with them. He became Bishop of Lyons.

Friday 29
- St Peter and Paul, Apostles. Both suffered martyrdom under Nero in Rome, where their day is marked with great celebration. Saturday 30 -The First Martyrs of the Church of Rome. A day for commemorating all those heroic Christian men and women who died for the faith during the reign of Nero.

Young People & Suicide
There will be a Youth Vigil held in Ballymagroarty Parish Church on Sunday 24th June from 7p.m.-11.30p.m. This vigil is being held for all those affected in anyway by suicide and also for all young people. This will be an evening of prayer, drama music, silence, talks and healing. The evening is aimed at giving hope and consolation and we particularly invite those finding it hard to cope with the struggles of life or who are interested in any way and want to pray for our young people. Everyone is welcome. The evening will be run by young people for young people! (See posters for more details)

Sponsored Walk - The annual Sponsored Walk from Garvagh Hall on Sunday 24th June at 3p.m. The walk is in aid of Fr. Joe McMenamin's Zambian Mission Appeal. Sponsor sheets are available from Garvagh committee members. It is hoped that last years success can be built upon as Fr. Joe will be in attendance this year. Refreshments for all participants at Garvagh hall on return from walk. A concert will follow at 8p.m. featuring a host of local artists. Tickets available or pay at the door. Donations also accepted.

Missionaries of the Sacred Heart have launched website at www.mscireland.com Apart from information about MSC missionary work, the site contains daily Catholic news update, the sunday mass readings and links to other catholic sites. It is a good source of information.

Seniors & Reserves Sunday 24th June: Cookstown v Aghyaran. Reserve 2.15pm, Senior 3.45pm. Sunday 1st July: Omagh v Aghyaran. U-18 Tuesday 26th June: MFL Q/F Aghyaran v Stewartstown at 7.30pm.
U-16 Thursday 28th June:
U-16 FL Aghyaran v Tattyreagh at 7.30pm.
U-13 Training U-13 training takes place every Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.
U-12, U-10 & U-8
Training Coaching for U-12s, U-10s and U-8s continues every Monday and Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8pm. All new players welcome.
U-12 Monday 23rd June:
U-12 FL Owen Roes v Aghyaran. Bus will leave the Centre at 6pm sharp.
Monday 2nd July:
U-12 FL Aghyaran v Newtownstewart.
U-10 Blitz U-10s will play in the Finals of the Donegal Northern Board U 10 competition next Saturday 30th June in Termon. Bus will leave the Centre at 9.30am.

Congratulations
Congratulations to Clara McMenamin & Madeline Penrose and the Tyrone Ladies U-14 squad that won an Ulster title last weekend.Ê Congratulations also to Martin Penrose, Kelly & Lucy Meehan and both Tyrone senior teams on their Ulster semi final victories.
Ladies Ulster Final takes place on Sunday 1st July.

Clean Up
There will be a clean up of the club grounds in preparation for the upcoming festival next Monday and Wednesday from 7pm anyone available to help would be very welcome.

Hike to Croagh Padraig
Do you fancy a trip to Westport, Co. Mayo combined with a hike of one of Ireland’s most famous mountain Croagh Padraig locally known as “The Reek”. The trip will be on Sunday 22 July for those aged 18-30 and it will cost approx. £35. This fee will include transport from Derry, an official guide and dinner in Westport.
