Prayer of Solace
May Christ
support us all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in his mercy
may he give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest and peace at the last.
Amen.

Questions people
ask
Q.
What is the point of repeating Hail
Marys or other prayers over and over
again? To me it is totally mechanical
and boring.
A.
The
most important functions in life are
repetitive, like heart beat, breathing,
eating, etc. I never heard anybody
say that heartbeat or breathing were
boring. The fact is that you could
not live without them. Repetitive
prayer need not be an empty mechanical
exercise but a means of calming the
mind as an aid to holding attention
on sacred mysteries
